The Project on Climate Resilient Agriculture was conceptualized by the Department of Agriculture, the Government of Maharashtra, and the World Bank to develop a drought-proofing and climate-resilient strategy for the agriculture sector as a long-term and sustainable measure, to address the likely impacts of climate variabilities and climate change.
The village-level development plan under the project emerges after a comprehensive data-driven microplanning exercise led by the community.
The village development plan includes measures for optimal utilization of natural resources, appropriate cropping patterns, adoption of the latest technologies, and improved access to markets.
The project focuses on the evidence-based scientific implementation of this plan.
