Apply for a new license in person
Make sure you have the relevant application form with you to apply.
Form A1, Form S2 and Form S3 for Individual
Form A2 for companies or bank
Make sure the applicant is eligible to apply
Please ensure that the documents are in hand before applying.
Submit the application form and other required documents to the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the following address.

1st Floor, East Block (North Wing),
18Lalbazar Street,
Kolkata 700001, West Bengal.
The local police station will contact the applicant for inquiries.
Competent authority assesses in respect of
Threat-based requirements of weapons by the applicant
use capabilities
safe handling of weapons by the applicant,
Physical fitness of the applicant for the capabilities to handle the weapon,
background,
Antecedents, etc.
Accordingly, it is decided to submit its report through Divisional DCP.
If the application is considered and permitted by the competent authority, the applicant has to fill out the NDAL (Notational Database on Arms License) data input form: NDAL link
Submit it to the Arms Act Department for uploading it in the national database and generating a unique ID.
Apply for Renewal
- Make sure you have the application form for applying -Form A3
- Please make sure that the documents are in hand before applying
- Application for renewal of Arms License in the specified format should be submitted one month before the date of expiry of arms license
- The licensee should produce his/her weapon and license for inspection at the time of renewal and pay the renewal fees.
- If the License is a senior citizen, the competent authority may verify physical fitness and mental alertness.
- If required, address and current antecedent may be verified through local PS.
- Renewal will be done immediately and the necessary thing about renewal will be made in the license.
