Here we have shared the key details of the Acid Attack Victims Scheme by the Government of India.
- Financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh is provided to the female acid attack victims from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. In the case of male victims, financial assistance up to Rs. 1 lakh is granted, depending upon the scale of injuries and another criterion.
- This policy came into effect from 08.10.2016, thus, victims, who suffered acid attacks before the said period are not eligible for getting a grant from PMNRF.
- The application format, or application form for getting the grant from PMNRF should be sent through District Administration concerned to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, North Block, New Delhi along with a copy of FIR, Medical Report, Bank Account detail of victim and Address Proof. In the case of minor victims or for the victims, who have lost their lives due to acid attacks, bank account detail of Parents/next of kin may be provided.
