Types of Massachusetts Bills of Sale Form.
There are three types and they include;
General Bill of Sale Form – This document confirms that the buying and selling of personal properties occurred legally between two individuals.
Gun Bill of Sale – This document confirms the legal sales and purchase of a gun.
It also proves that there has been a transfer of ownership from the buyer to the seller.
Vehicle/Vessel Bill of Sale – In Massachusetts, this document can be used to prove that a Vehicle or boat was sold and purchased.
It is used for two different types of property and shows that there has been a transfer of ownership in the event of a sales transaction.
Registration Requirements for a vehicle:
Proof of Sales transaction (which is a bill of sale in this case);
A mileage declaration, also known as an Odometer Disclosure Form;
Certificate showing ownership (ownership title can be changed or replaced online or via mail);
A valid and up-to-date licensing to drive;
When someone else, in place of the original owner of the vehicle registers the vehicle, a power of attorney is needed;
A completely filled Application to register and claim ownership of the vehicle;
Fees for registration; and
Insurance confirmation with limited coverage:
For each person, there is a $20,000 fee if he/she is physically injured;
For every accident that amounts to physical injury $40,000;
To cover the health care cost in relation to injuries sustained from every car accident, each person receives $8,000;
When a vehicle is not covered by insurance, every physically injured person from such vehicle receives $20,000;
When a vehicle is not covered by insurance, every accident that results in bodily injury will cost $40,000; and
When damage is caused to a property owned by someone else, the coverage is $5,000.
Registration Requirements for Boats
Proof of sales transaction ( a bill of sale in this case);
Document proving that sales tax or use tax for the vessel has been paid;
Proof of Ownership (for vessels that are fourteen feet or more in length);
A document showing that the vessel was bought brand new; this document is referred to as an MSO (Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin)
Pencil tracing of the number from the boat hull;
A completely filled Application to register and claim ownership of the vessel; and
Payment of registration costs.
