27 सितंबर, 2021 को आयुष्मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन के शुभारंभ के अवसर पर व्यक्त प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के ये उद्गार हमारे देश में स्वास्थ्य की दिशा में किए जा रहे प्रयासों का सार है।
आयुष्मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन के माध्यम से देश के नागरिकों के स्वास्थ्य रिकॉर्ड का डाटाबेस तैयार किया जा रहा है। विभिन्न प्रकार की चिकित्सकीय सेवाओं एवं सुविधाओं का डिजिटलीकरण इस मिशन का प्रारंभिक उद्देश्य है।
इस मिशन को पहले 15 अगस्त, 2018 को छह केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों में मिशन मोड में आरंभ किया गया। तत्पश्चात 27 सितंबर, 2021 को इस योजना को पूरे देश में लागू कर दिया गया है।
हाल ही में पीएम आयुष्मान भारत स्वास्थ्य अवसंरचना मिशन भी शुरू किया गया है जिसका उद्देश्य देश में स्वास्थ्य अवसंरचना की कमी को दूर करना है और अगले चार-पांच वर्षों में महत्वपूर्ण स्वास्थ्य नेटवर्क को गांव से लेकर प्रखंड, जिले से लेकर क्षेत्रीय और राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक मजबूत करना है।
हर संकट अपने साथ कुछ संभावनाएं एवं अवसर लेकर आता है। भारत ने कोविड-19 संकट के दौरान स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में तकनीक एवं नवाचार के अनुप्रयोगों के जरिए इस कथन को प्रमाणित किया है। भौगोलिक और जनसांख्यिकीय विविधताओं के बावजूद भारत ने स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं में डिजिटल संसाधनों का जिस तरह समावेश किया है, उससे ग्रामीण भारत तक स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं की पहुंच सुगम हो रही
